Location: Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church

Reception: Following the Service at the Family Home

Beverly Bradburn Pulliam, 76, (aka Bebbie or Bev) born on July 28, 1942 entered into eternal rest with our Lord on September 18, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Newport News growing up in Hilton Village, attending Hilton Elementary School, Warwick High School and later graduated from Christopher Newport College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She and her family attended Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church where she was active in Girl Scouts and other church activities. She taught fourth grade at B.C. Charles Elementary school until retirement. Her membership in the Junior League of Hampton Roads kept her involved in a great deal of volunteer work and rewarded her with many friendships. She enjoyed playing bridge, being on the water, playing tennis, cooking, and entertaining. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Stephenson Bradburn and Norman Wood Bradburn. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Albert C. Pulliam, Jr.; her two children, Albert C. Pulliam III and Norman B. Pulliam; three grandchildren, Raevon M. Pulliam, Norman B. Pulliam, Jr., and Alexis C. Pulliam; her sister, Betty Bradburn Honse; and her beloved dog, Lucky. Bev and her family were the light, love, and joy of her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:00 am by Rev. Kathy Gray. After the service, the family will receive friends at the family home to share memories and some of her favorite foods and beverages.

In Lieu of flowers, Bev requested that donations be made to Christopher Newport University Education Fund and specified for the “Beverly B. Pulliam ’83 Annual Scholarship.” The family would like to thank Marlene Ferri, Ruth Eason, and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for all their help and kindness. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
