Carol Jean Day, 77 of Welch, WV passed peacefully Sunday October 14, 2018 at Riverside Hospital after a long battle with many illnesses. Born June 26, 1941 at Stevens Clinic Hospital, Welch, WV to the late Charles J. Blevins and Bertha Jane Blevins. She will join her husband and best friend of 58 years,  Ronald P. Day.

Carol retired from Bell Atlantic/Verizon and was a dedicated member of Olivet Christian Church and Olivet Women's Ministry. She kept in touch with all her high school and childhood friends and never missed a chance to talk to them. She was the best Mamaw, Mom and friend anyone could have wanted.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband; her siblings, Charles Edward Blevins and Betty Jane Blevins. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Jean Sooth (Day) and her husband, Michael Sooth, who was the son she never had and his daughters, Courtney Sooth and Ashley Sooth and her children, Riley and Dylan; her grandchildren, who she loved to the Moon and Back, Amanda K. Wolf, Angel J.A. Wolf, Ronald W. Wolf, Noah D. Wolf and Mikyla J.M. Sooth all of Virginia; her great-grandchildren, Hayden E. Tugwell, Micah W. Wolf, Grayson C. Wolf and Bailey J. Wolf; and by many friends and family. During her last few months, she was cared and supported by her Best Friend and Sister in Christ, Herta Reed and her dedicated sister-in-law, Brenda Blevins of Richmond. The family would like to give everyone who cared, assisted, and loved Mamaw their greatest and warmest gratitude.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 pm at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 9:30 am at Peninsula Memorial Park. Because of her involvement in the church and her grand kids attending Youth Group at Olivet, the family asks that donations be made to Olivet Student Ministry in her memory. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
