Sam F. Kennedy, Jr., 89, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was born and raised on a farm in Harmony, MS. Sam's insatiable curiosity led him as a teenager to Chicago to Coyne Electronics  School. He joined the Navy and served as an Electronic Technician during the Korean War. He continued his work in electronics with RCA Service Corp./GE his entire career, one that he loved! He retired in 1990 and resumed his passion for HAM radio. Sam, KT4QW, was honored with a Lifetime Honorary membership by the Peninsula Amateur Radio Club in 2009 for his time and dedication. He was a prolific writer and published in QST magazine, the national HAM radio publication. His HAM radio friends described him as “a mentor to many” and “the world has lost a great man.”

He was a lifelong learner with many interests including gardening, magic, photography, painting, carpentry, and flying. He will be remembered as artistic, humorous, calm, the jack of all trades and always there to help others.
