Servcies will be private

Edward M. Brooks, 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born in Calcasieu, Louisiana on May 2, 1955. Eddie B was an amazing musician and performer, playing in bands all up and down the east coast. Groups included: Memories, Sound Express, UBU, and The Entertainers. He also received a two year performance degree from Berklee College of Music. He spent most of his adult life living in Kernersville, NC until moving to Newport News, VA in 2008 to marry his wife, Linda Nichols Brooks. Aside from his exceptional musical talents, Eddie was an adventurous man; even travelling to Japan to play country music once. He was hard-headed and moody no doubt, but we loved him anyway! So much talent and always the life of the party with a smile and charm that touched everyone who met him. He was a loving husband, father, friend and "Pop-Pop." He enjoyed working at Food Lion in Poquson, where he had many loyal customers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Margaret Brooks. Survived by his wife Linda Nichols Brooks, daughter Chelsea Tane' Brooks, grandson Ethan Michael Brooks, many lifelong friends, and his best friend "Boo-Boo" his dog. His presence will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Services will be private. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.

So shocked to hear this sad news! So glad I was able to see him a few years ago at a YHS Alumni Mixer and meet his sweet wife. A sweet man
