Elizabeth “Beth” Poole Stevenson,47, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, after a brief illness, with her mother, Kathy, by her side. Beth was born in Havre de Grace, MD. In 1975, her family moved to San Diego, CA where she attended the Ocean Beach Free School. In 1980, Beth and her mother moved to Burlington, WV.  Beth attended Concord College in Athens, WV. She and her husband, A.J. Stevenson, moved to Keyser, WV and in 2014 they moved to Georgia, then to Virginia in 2015, with their two children, Dante and Landen (Lola).  Beth’s career in childhood education began with her work at Burlington United Methodist Family Services, Inc. where she touched countless children’s lives and was awarded a “Childcare Worker of the Year” award.  Beth was a gifted mentor of both children and adolescents, many of whom remember her big heart and unconditional love. Later she was employed as an Instructional Aide with Mineral County Schools and the WV Department of Education, specializing in addressing the challenges of children with special needs.

Beth was predeceased by her father, Thomas Christopher Poole. She is survived by her husband, A.J. Stevenson; her children, Dante and Landen (Lola) Stevenson; her mother, Kathleen Hans Poole; her brother Nathan Cox, of MD; her in-laws, Diane and Raymond (Skip) Stevenson, of OH; brothers-in- law, Keith and Adam Stevenson of CA, and sister-in-law Mia, and Craig Lautt of NJ, along with a number of nieces and nephews; her aunts, Jeanne Poole and Martha Poole and her uncles, Jay Poole and Jeff Poole of MD.

Beth was a charismatic, loving and generous person, who could “light up the room” with her presence. A.J.’s unwavering love and support carried her through her life’s challenges and during her final illness. Beth’s example of embracing life with enthusiasm and joy will not be forgotten. Her friends and family will fondly remember her rich sense of humor, her love of life and her distinctive laugh.

Jim and I want to offer our sympathy to Kathy, A. J., Dante and Landon (Lola) all the family in the loss of precious Beth. She and our daughter Lisa were such special friends. It seems like only yesterday they were expecting babies at the same time. To learn that she was ill was heart-wrenching! Please know how much your friends in Keyser are sharing in your grief at her loss. We pray that knowing how much we care will provide a bit comfort and peace. Sending our love and hugs...
