Gordon Thomas Weeks passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Gordon and Betty, wife of 62 years, met in Danville, VA. He worked for W. T. Grant Company and moved to several cities in North Carolina before settling back in Newport News, where they have lived for the last 52 years.

Gordon was the owner of Gordon Weeks Construction, which he started in 1974 and was joined by his two sons and grandson, Gordon Jr., Gary and Gordon Weeks III in the business. He shared his vast knowledge of construction and used this ability to communicate and please his clients.

Gordon was a proud man and loved his family, his work and his circle track racing hobby, which he shared with his family and friends. Never one to sit back and watch, he sat in his chair and told everyone how he wanted everything completed.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edna Weeks and his grandson, Glenn Parker, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Betty Weeks; 7 children, Sandra (William) Jackson, Susan (Chuck) Brooks, Shelia (Ronald) McClure, Stacey (Ron) Brand, Sherri (David) Nichols, Gordon (Angela) Weeks and Gary (Renee) Weeks;14 grandchildren, Glenn, PJ, Alexis, Michael, Megan, John, Morgan, Trey, Nichole, Dale, Gordon III, Hannah, Lilah and Garrison and 10 great-grandchildren, Jenson, Carter, Parker, Banxlee, Reagan, River, Harper, Willow, Carrie and Haisley.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Rev. David Willis. Interment will take place at Peninsula Memorial Park with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
