Helen M. Owen, 82, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at her home in Newport News, VA. She was born in Charleston, WV, resided in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and later moved to Newport News, VA where she worked and brought up her two children, Susan, and Nancy. She retired from Building Specialties as a well-respected employee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Watson Meadows, the 22nd Governor of WV and Nancy Massie Meadows; her sisters, Nancy Ghiz, Susan Brown, and her daughter, Nancy Jarrett. She is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Carter; her dog, Sassy; her sister, Lynne Roadarmel (Rob); her two grandchildren, Andrew and Brandon and her nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s name to your favorite charity. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
