Larry Bruce Estes, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Bruce was born in Gordonsville, VA. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. He was employed by Anheuser Busch for 32 years as a Material Control Specialist. His dream job followed with The Newport News Park service as a Park Technician where he worked for 12 years. He was a charter member of Denbigh Christian Church. He spent many days outdoors hunting on his family farm in Gordonsville. Bruce loved God, his family, his country and John Wayne!  
Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diann Estes; his daughter, Jennifer VonCords and her husband, Chad of Newport News and granddaughter, Natalie Estes; his sister, Fran Spitzer and husband, Grady; his brother, Don Estes and wife, Joyce. 
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Rev. Cliff Manuel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00-12Noon. Interment will follow the service at Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peninsula SPCA. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
