Celebration of Life Service: 12 noon., Friday, March 26, 2021

Location: Weymouth Funeral Home

Seth Elisha Calhoun, 18, was born in 2003 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  His family moved to Hampton, VA when he was 9 years old.  Seth was a passionate artist and  "sneakerhead".  He owned an array of Jordan’s, Nike and Vans.  He was a musician that played the French horn and Mellow. He was an active member of the concert, symphonic and marching band, under the direction of Mr. Ronzell Bell.

Seth worked incredibly hard, and thanks to the diligence of The Hampton High Schools principal, Shameka Pollard Seth, was able to complete his high school career as a graduate of the Class of 2021.

Seth gained his wings on March 16, 2021 at 11:35 pm after a fierce battle with Renal Medullary Carcinoma.  A very rare and aggressive cancer that predominantly affects young men of color that carry the sickle cell trait.

We, Seth's family are so appreciative to the medical staff, Dr. William Owen, who used their expertise to treat and make Seth comfortable throughout this difficult journey.   A special shout out to Dr. William Owen, Rob Ericson and every staff member at CHKD in Norfolk, Virginia.

Seth is survived by his parents, Sylvester and Shalonde; his siblings, Zaphir, Shalom, Imani and Josiah; his sister-in-law, Nequel and niece, Zola; his god-mother, Theresa Ellis and Aunts, Olivia and Sabrina; Uncles, Sean and Michael and a host of other family members that love him.

Seth will always be remembered as a kind and humble young man with a beautiful heart and bright smile.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, March 26, 2021on the lawn at Weymouth Funeral Home. Masks are required as well as social distancing. In case of inclement weather, services will be moved indoors to the chapel where seating will be limited.

Always and Forever #Sethstrong!!!

In Seth's memory donations can be made to #Sethstrong or Good Samaritan.
